The Craftsman: Kenny Adkins of Re:Source Ohio

Award Winning Work: Installation of new rubber floor in the Ice Haus lobby at Nationwide Arena

His Challenge: Adkins led a crew of four and manufactured the entire product, with the exception of the actual Blue Jacket logo, on-site. The detail for the star pattern was hand laid and cut in the field. Along with the unique, intricate floor design, the extreme thickness of the rubber tile material made it difficult to precisely hand cut the unforgiving surface.

Another challenge was created when the prefabricated logo had to undergo substantial fieldwork in order to meet visual requirements. Adkins’ innovation led his team to complete the project within scope and within budget.

Craftsman’s Comments: “The best reward is to be able to be proud of what I do. To walk away from a project that really looks good is a great feeling.”

Contractor:   McCarthy Consultants LLC
