The Craftsman: Dave Askew of The Superior Group His Winning Work: Electrical installation of instrumentation upgrades to the entire Jackson Pike and Southerly Waste Water Treatment Plants |

The work encompasses the addition of devices for monitoring and controlling various processes in the treatment of waste water. This included the installation of power distribution, monitoring and network equipment and instrumentation components. Along with the integration of new technology into an older control system, scheduling nearly 500 different outages and 200 startup requests to install, calibrate and test various pieces of equipment without affecting the normal daily process of the facility created many obstacles. Askew led a crew of 36 and was involved in all aspects of the project. He was constantly required to make scheduling and coordination changes to maintain the daily plant process during the entire three year construction period. Dresser & McKee, Inc. Askew is a first-time Craftsmanship Award winner. Originally from Clymer, Pennsylvania, he started with The Superior Group after completing the IBEW electrical apprenticeship program.
