Difficult to convey through drawings, Tyo visualized the intricacy of the four barreled ceilings meeting at the radiused soffit under the main dome. He then successfully communicated the details to his crew of five. The project took place during a two-month period with the majority of the installation completed under temporary weather protection. All of the framing was assembled, cut and formed on-site. The framing for the soffited and vaulted barrel ceiling was erected 30 to 40-feet in the air and then placed in it’s final destination using scissor lifts. Radiused templates were designed, built and used to fabricate the arched framing that makes up the vaults and soffits. The domes were assembled on the ground and then lifted 50-feet to the top of the sanctuary roof. Tyo has been in the industry nine years. He has been employed with Corna/Kokosing Construction Co. for his entire career. Architect:
