Inspections
called in before 5:00 p.m. will be performed next day.
Inspections called in after 5:00 p.m. are considered called-in
on the following day. |

A. |
The
following information shall be required at the time the
inspection is called in: |
|
1. Type of inspection
2. Lot number or building number
3. Address
4. Contractor name and phone number
5. Permit number |
|
B. |
Any
inspection requested which does not include all of the above
information will not be added to the inspection list until all
information is provided. |
| 2. |
Tests
shall be made on all interior gas piping and shall follow
these procedures: |

A. |
Shut
off gas line at the meter riser
(inside shut off may be used if within 3 feet of meter riser. |
|
B. |
Check
all appliances, turn off thermostat, and close all shut off
valves.
(open drip leg at furnace in case of failure) |
|
C. |
Test
house supply side of regulator with shut off closed to prevent
backflow pressure on regulator. |
|
D. |
Take
off test and open shut off valves at appliances and reinstall
drip legs. |
|
E. |
Test on
meter side of regulator allowing pressure to flow through
regulator to all appliances.
(will check for leaks past shut off valves at regulated
pressure) |

F. |
Remove
test equipment, replace drip legs, and open main shut off
valve. |
|
G. |
Purge
air from system through drip legs. |
|
H. |
Re-light
pilot lights as needed and reset thermostat to restart
furnace. |

Interior
gas piping shall be tested per NFPA 54 to comply with section
1304.18 of the Ohio Basic Mechanical Code. All necessary
apparatus for conducting these tests shall be furnished by the
permit holder. |

Tests
shall be witnessed at time of Final Occupancy inspection,
unless approved for another time by the Building Official. |
| 5. |
Inspection
of gas piping shall be done at time of rough structural
inspection prior to insulation. |
