Group-experience employers now eligible for safety council performance bonus rebate

The Builders Exchange is proud to announce that the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation has decided to extend the safety council performance bonus rebate to group-experience employers during the 2012 fiscal year. Previously, those in group-experience rating programs were encouraged to participate but excluded from earning any rebate.

To earn the 2% performance bonus rebate, companies must meet all program eligibility requirements and reduce their frequency and severity rates by 10% or maintain both at zero.  

Ohio BWC FY12 safety council program discount eligibility requirements:

• Enroll with local safety council by July 31, 2011.

• Attend ten meetings or events, eight of which must be through local safety council (Employers have the option to gain credit for up to two meetings through attendance at Ohio Safety Congress, DSH safety training courses or industry-specific training.)

• CEO must attend any one safety council sponsored function or meeting (CEO attendance counts as credit toward one of ten meetings required).

• Submit semi-annual reports for the 2011 calendar year.

Companies that are self-insured or in group-retrospective rating programs are excluded from earning a rebate, but are welcome to participate.
